Repair Costs

These are guidelines for repairs on a "student" or "advancing student" instrument. They cover labor only and are based on an average time needed for the repair and a shop rate of $60/hr. Final costs are based on actual labor, parts, and cost of materials used, and may be lower or higher than these guidelines.

A fine instrument will, of course, require additional care, and the cost of repair or restoration may be significantly higher.

When I examine your instrument, I will prepare an estimate. I will do my best to stay under the figure I quote you but I may run into unanticipated problems. If it seems as though the final cost will be significantly higher than my estimate, I will contact you for permission to proceed.
